The Lodge @ The Grange

Tucked away in the Esk Valley, the Lodge @ the Grange is the ideal location to explore all the National Park has to offer. The North York Moors Railway is two villages away. Walking, golf, horse riding and fossil hunting are available all round and it only takes 15 minutes to drive to the beach.

Once through the garden gate you can only see fields, moors and scattered farmsteads. Relaxing in the private garden surrounded by stunning views, you will be deafened by the silence. On a clear night you feel you can almost pick the stars from the sky.  It is quiet enough to hear curlew, pheasant, woodpeckers, owls and the joyous song of the wren. Sheep and cattle roam the fields and you will often see deer and hares and plenty of rabbits.

Originally, the Lodge was the gatehouse for the Grange and is built as sturdily as the big house it served. Offering single level living, the stone cottage can sleep 4 in a twin and double bedroom. Egyptian cotton bedding, towels and tea towels are provided.

We have half a mile of fishing for salmon and sea trout on the River Esk which you are welcome to fish. The river also has dippers, otters and kingfishers.

The North York Moors National Park is an area of majestic landscapes and verdant green valleys. It is the largest expanse of heather moorland in England.
